SUMMARY
This Social Media dashboard displayed analytics from all social channels and allowed goal tracking by campaign and outlet. It was simple, yet flexible enough to become a white label product.
GOALS & OBJECTIVES
- Drill-Down Analytics Capabilities
- Customizable Goal Setting & Tracking
- Tell a Complete Story of Social Media Performance
- Identify & Implement Efficiencies in Design and Eng LOE
MY ROLE
- Oversaw, Reviewed & Provided UI/UX Feedback
- Led Brainstorm & Final Requirements Sessions
CHALLENGES
- Existing clients were promised the Insights Console by Sales before scoping was refined. First time that’s happened in history. ?
- Live within, but push existing Design Patterns
- Desktop only
HISTORY
The Product Team had an existing dashboard that was in need of updating, unfortunately it was far down the roadmap. The Custom Solutions Team often developed work that influenced future features and products. The Insights Console became the foundation for the Product Team’s white label dashboard.
RESEARCH
The Product and Strategy Team had collected months of feedback from customers on how the existing dashboard didn’t meet enough of their needs and which additional KPIs would be beneficial to include.
APPROACH
Our approach given the tight timeline was to divide and conquer. Several Designers were pulled in for initial concepting but as we moved to UI, we divvied up key workflows based on strengths.
PROCESS
Research & Requirements Gathering: While I ran some of the high-level meetings for the Design Team, it was a group effort with Product and Strategy to nail down requirements and get quick feedback.
Wireframes + Final UI: Reviewed wires and UI from Designers and provided feedback.
FINAL SOLUTION
OVERVIEW SECTION
This was a high-level summary of performance designed to be a snapshot or Executive Summary.
KEY METRICS SECTION
Each Social Media outlet has different engagement metrics to monitor performance (clicks, likes, etc) and this section highlighted those.
CONTENT SECTION
Users could see individual posts and review specific content details–what was working, what wasn’t. Each media outlet was separated by tabs, instead of a long, running list.
GOALS & PROGRESS SECTION
Goal setting and progress tracking did not exist in the previous version. In this view, Users could see how their goals were tracking by campaign and date.
OUTCOME
- Well-received by initial Customers
- Gave Product Team a big head start on white label version
REFLECTION
Everyone pays the toll. This quick turn project had a positive result but it was hard on the team due to long hours and pressure to deliver. We made sure to celebrate the launch collectively and give everyone some recovery time.
